On March 26 2022, FUNPARK Festival transformed Bidwill Square into a vibrant outdoor event celebrating local music, dance, film and creativity that left no-one in doubt of the extraordinary talent coming out of Western Sydney.
There were plenty of creative workshops and activities planned throughout the day (including hula hooping, parkour and mask making), an opportunity to meet local Elders, food trucks, coffee van, art exhibition and 0-5 entertainment area.
The festival featured an incredible line-up, showcasing some of Western Sydney's best artists, including one of the most exciting and powerful new rappers in Australian music BARKAA; Hip Hop dance group The Pioneers Mega Crew; Mount Druitt soul flavoured hip-hop favourite Manifold; Fairfield's Dauntless Movement Crew combining breakdancing, parkour and acrobatics; Iti Te Ra Dance Troupe, showcasing Pacific Islander culture through dance, drumming and music; MRVZ celebrating Western Sydney through Hip Hop; the beautiful Mount Druitt Aboriginal dance group Garabara; and so much more.
FUNPARK had closed the day with a film screening featuring local filmmakers. After three postponed events, it was amazing to finally gather in person and witness the community celebrate art and culture.
